Job Description

A rapidly expanding real estate investment group in Florida is seeking a Property Controller to oversee financial operations for a diverse commercial property portfolio. This confidential search is ideal for a hands-on accounting leader who excels in an entrepreneurial environment and can build scalable systems as the organization grows.

Onsite presence in Florida is preferred, but highly qualified candidates may be considered for remote work, depending on experience and alignment with role requirements.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead all property-level accounting functions, month-end close, and financial reporting
  • Manage budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis
  • Enhance internal controls, policies, and accounting workflows
  • Oversee AR/AP, CAM reconciliations, and lease audits
  • Ensure accurate lease accounting within Yardi or similar platforms
  • Supervise domestic and international team members
  • Improve KPI tracking and shorten the month-end close timeline
  • Support continued portfolio growth and collaborate closely with executive leadership

What You Need

  • Bachelor's in Accounting or Finance (CPA preferred)
  • 7-10+ years of accounting experience, including 5+ in a senior/Controller-level role
  • Strong background in commercial real estate and property management accounting
  • Leadership and team development experience
  • Proficiency with Yardi or comparable software
  • Highly organized, deadline-driven, and detail-oriented
  • Ability to create scalable systems and improve process efficiency
